 | Monday, June 1st, 1964: Alexander Cartwright League Premier Pitcher is Boswell There's something about a young rookie winning the Alexander Cartwright League Pitcher of the Month trophy that sends shock waves through the league. Such is the case with Dave Boswell, a 19-year-old starter for the Seattle Rainiers. In May, he topped off the month with a 5-2 mark and 1.36 ERA in 8 starts, tossed 53 innings, fanned 71 and held opposing teams to a .131 average. In 1964 Boswell has worked 88.2 innings with 108 strikeouts en route to a 7-3 record and 1.32 ERA. |
