Thursday, July 9th, 1964: Nen Bombs 3 HR Against Jacksonville
Going... Going... Gone!
Dick Nen did it three times in the Hawaii 6-4 victory over the Jacksonville Suns.
Three home runs in one game! "I was in a groove," he said, "and every pitch they tossed up there looked like a grapefruit."

Commenting after the game to the press, the elated Nen explained, "I tell you what, I was so shocked because I didn't think the last ball had enough to get out. I thought it was just going to be a long out."

For the day the Hawaii first baseman went 3-3 against Jacksonville with 3 RBIs and 4 runs scored in a brilliant display of power hitting.

D. Nen hit a solo-shot off M. Grant in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off M. Grant in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off J. Flavin in the 7th and walked in the 8th.

Nen is presently hitting at a .333 pace with 20 home runs, 53 RBIs and has scored 55 times.
