Not known for his offensive prowess, Billy Cowan set the league afire in April and took home the Kenesaw Mountain Landis League Batter of the Month award.
The Columbus left fielder posted a steady .370 batting average, 6 home runs, 25 RBIs and 16 runs.

His hard work and hustle paid off this week. The hard-working and hard-playing Bobby Tolan was rewarded with the Kenesaw Mountain Landis League Player of the Week honors.
The scrappy Columbus Jets center fielder hit .484 while collecting 15 hits in 31 at-bats, no home runs and 5 RBIs.

26-year-old Billy Cowan sent shock waves through Independence League last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the Kenesaw Mountain Landis League Player of the Week Award.
A newcomer to the league, Cowan made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a .381 average, 8 hits in 21 at-bats, 3 home runs and 9 runs batted in.
Where the Columbus Jets left fielder goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but Cowan certainly made his mark last week.
