| Breaking News | | Wednesday, April 28th, 1965: Bertell 5-5 for Rangers It was high-5 day at Burnett Field, at least for Dick Bertell of the Dallas Fort Worth Rangers. He got a lot of high-5's from his teammates for his outstanding hitting against the Louisville Colonels. Bertell smashed 5 hits in 5 at-bats on his record-setting day, leading his club to a 7-2 win.
His manager said, "Dick was hitting everything. It really was a special game for him."
In the other dugout the opposing manager told BNN beat writers, "He ambushed my boys today. Obviously we didn't have much success against him, but luckily, tomorrow is another day. Hopefully it will be our day to shine."
D. Bertell doubled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, doubled in the 6th and hit a three-run home run off R. Daviault in the 7th.
In 1965 Bertell is batting .355 with 1 home run. | | Sunday, September 20th, 1964: KMLL Awards Outstanding Pitcher Trophy A reliever is at his best when the game is on the line. Blasingame appeared in 34 games and converted no saves in no save opportunities. The Colonels star had a 18-4 record with a 2.31 ERA. He also chalked up 153 strikeouts and walked 63 in 195 innings of work. | | Tuesday, August 25th, 1964: Meyer Expresses Desire to Leave Colonels?
