Sunday, August 16th, 1964: Moeller Whitewashes Denver
It was a smooth and solid performance by Joe Moeller of the Omaha Dodgers against Denver today. He crafted a fine 3-hitter in blanking them 1-0 and chalked up 3 strikeouts and no walks along the way.

"It certainly makes my job easy," said the Omaha skipper. "When my pitcher pitches a shutout. I can just sit back, watch and enjoy."

To date this season, Moeller has a record of 5 wins and 3 losses and a 2.36 ERA. He has appeared in 8 games and struck out 41 in 53.1 innings.
Sunday, August 2nd, 1964: Colonels Dierker Blanks Dodgers
Larry Dierker effectively shut down the Dodgers today, blanking them 5-0 on 3 hits, ringing up 5 strikeouts and allowing 1 walk. The Colonels pitcher appeared to get stronger as the game went on.

"I don't know if I was getting any stronger," Dierker said after the game, "I feel like my mechanics were getting better. I was able to make some adjustments and get a little more comfortable out there."

The Dodgers skipper said, "We had some opportunities, but weren't able to execute. We just didn't swing the bats very well today."

This season Dierker has a 10-8 record with a 2.70 ERA in 28 starts.
Monday, June 29th, 1964: KMLL Votes Omaha Right Fielder Top Player
So far in his young career, Willie Crawford has kept a low profile, but after his performance at the plate last week, he attracted the notice of the rest of the Kenesaw Mountain Landis League in a big way as he was named the Player of the Week today for his efforts.

The 17-year-old Omaha Dodgers right fielder hit at a torrid .462 clip as he collected 12 hits in 26 at-bats, 3 home runs, 7 RBIs and 8 runs scored.

In 70 games this season Crawford has batted at a .313 pace with 76 hits and 16 home runs.
