Tuesday, April 13th, 1965: Oliver Raps Hawaii for 5 Hits
At Parker Field Nate Oliver was the King of Swing today in the 6-0 win over the Islanders. The Richmond second baseman stepped into the batter's box 5 times against the Hawaii and delivered 5 hits.

It was a sensational game for him. He told the press, "Unbelievable feeling. It felt good. 5 for 5! It does wonders for your batting average, too."

N. Oliver singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off B. Dustal in the 8th.

Monday, September 21st, 1964: Dick Nen Takes Best Bat Trophy
Dick Nen of the Hawaii Islanders proved that you can step out of the shadows and onto the stage if you've got the talent and the drive to hone your skills. Hard work, long hours and a tireless resolve paid off for him today in the form of the Alexander Cartwright League Sluggers Award.

Nen hit for a .357 average while collecting 173 hits, 19 doubles, 2 triples, 36 home runs, 93 RBIs and scoring 99 times.
Tuesday, September 1st, 1964: August's Best Batter Announced
For a rookie just breaking in, Dick Nen certainly put together a successful month. It was good enough to win the ACL Batter of the Month award for August.

The 24-year-old first baseman for the Hawaii Islanders hit .423 with 10 home runs, 26 RBIs and 24 runs scored.

Presently Nen is batting .360 with 36 home runs and 93 RBIs. He has played in 129 games and scored 98 times.
